Now & Then Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade 2009
Nov 25

Bullet points, because they are fun!!

  • Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and since I will not be cooking this year we are going to get the kiddos up bright and early to go to the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in NYC! My husband and I have been once before and it’s a crazy, busy and super fun time. I’ll be sure to take pictures of the huge balloons and post a couple over the next few days. Afterwards we will head back home and then up to my neighbor Sheila’s house for Thanksgiving dinner.
  • The following day I’ll be heading back into the city to spend a night out with my girlfriend Chau. She got a great deal on a hotel room and the two of us, along with her sister and really fun mother-in-law (seriously, this woman was once a Pl*yboy bunny) will be hanging out for the evening. Joe and the kids will be staying at my Dad’s house while the final coating on my wood floors is drying.
  • Speaking of wood floors, here’s a shot of our kitchen with the almost finished wood floors below. Next Thursday all the appliances and the cabinets will be delivered. I am beyond excited to be on the tail end of this renovation and can’t wait to bake some Christmas cookies with the kids!

Wow, NYC and the parade will be GREAT! I used to always watch it on TV when I was growing up…now, not so much. BTW, the floors look beautiful. Hope you enjoy a wonderful holiday.

It is a dream of mine to see the Macy’s parade in person! I would love to know where you decide to stand to watch all the festivities!

The hard wood floors look lovely – and I am quite envious of all that space :)

                Have a GREAT Thanksgiving!

That floor looks excellent for sliding around on in your socks. Once it’s dry, that is.

                            Those floors are GORGEOUS!!!

I hope you enjoyed the parade. We had fun watching it on television this year. It sounded like the weather was great there. Many years ago, 1994 I believe, I was in NYC visiting a friend and we decided we were going to the parade. It was horribly, horribly cold and we went really early but ended up giving up the ghost and coming back to watch it on television because it was just too much. While I didn’t regret it at the time, I do regret missing it now.
