Bunch of randomness & big balloons! All About the Brontes

One of the benefits of living in the North East is our proximity to New York City. We took advantage of our location by getting up early yesterday morning and heading into the city to see the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade live. The crowd was HUGE, the weather mild and the atmosphere festive. My favorite part was when we saw Santa’s sleigh – the entire crowd cheered. Being there really put us in the holiday spirit!

Here are some of my favorite photos.

I especially like this photo of Peekacho since you can see the actual
balloon handlers on the ground.

Look closely at the middle window in the next photo. You
can see the reflection of the Hello Kitty balloon.

You can get an idea of the size of the crowd by looking at this picture below.
You should have seen the amount of people standing behind us!

OH – that is just so cool!!! Where were you guys standing? How early did you get there? When we lived in NYC oh so many years ago, my husband and I tried to see the parade. We got on the subway at 5:30 and headed to Herald Square. After waiting in the freezing cold for over an hour and realizing we would not see a thing from where we were standing, we decided to head back to the apartment and watch the parade from the comfort of our heated living room :)

So glad you and your family had a great time!

What alot of fun (plus weren’t you getting together with friends too?). I would love to live close enough to NYC to be able to hop in and do things like this!

What fun for you and the kids!! I’m sure they’ll remember that day for the rest of their lives. I’m so glad it turned out to be a nice day. I can’t imagine going when it’s subzero and snowy (or rainy). You lucked out!

                        Hi Stephanie,

I just found your wordpress blog and am inspired by your love of books! I’m new to blogging about books, and in my case I’m blogging about audio books that I’m really (for the most part) pleased in the adaptation.

So, I guess, Hello and I’ll be reading what you are reading. Thanks so much for compiling your collection!
